Tarryl Gabel, a resident of Hyde Park, NY, was born and raised on a cattle ranch on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation, North Dakota, and she is an enrolled member of the Hidatsa Tribe. She began painting at an early age and has been greatly influenced by her grandfather, a self-taught western artist, and by the native culture.
Living in the Hudson Valley now for twenty years, her influence has shifted more towards the style of the Hudson River School of Painters and her work is now centered more around the landmarks and beautiful landscapes of this region. Her work is displayed in private collections and corporate settings around the country.
